Payment
Payments may be made by one of the following methods:
a draw from your checking or savings account ("eCheck")
by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, or Discover)
Your payment will be recorded as paid on the date submitted, but it may not be reflected in your bank or credit card account for 1-2 business days.Payment will post to your tax account on the following business day. Making multiple online payments to your tax account will result in unrefundable processing fees. Late payments made without interest included will be canceled or returned to you.
If this payment is being made as a draw from your checking account, it can be rejected by your financial institution even after the payment process is completed on the following payment page. Please monitor your account for the next few days to ensure that the funds are withdrawn.
If the payment is returned unpaid by your bank, financial institution, or credit card provider for any reason, you may be assessed applicable late or administrative fees as well as any other applicable handling fees. All charges and terms and conditions are subject to change.
Refunds of overpayments and/or duplicate payments may be made by issuing physical checks. It is necessary to specify the account holder name - or credit card holder name - and address correctly when making the payment in order to receive refunds.
Fees
eCheck - FREE of charge
Credit or debit card - an additional fee of 2.75% ($1.95 minimum processing fee) will be charged in addition to the tax amount. The fee is collected and retained by the payment processor and will show as a separate line item on your card statement.
A $30.00 nonsufficient funds/returned payment fee will be passed on to returned payments.
Please note tax payments must be submitted prior to 10pm MST (Mountain Standard Time) on or before:
February 29th for first half payments
April 30th for full payments
June 17th for second half payments

*We are not responsible for late fees due to payments not received if the website is down.
*If your tax payment made by credit card, check or e-check is returned unpaid for any reason by your financial institution, your tax obligation will change from paid status to unpaid (outstanding), and will be subject to applicable late payment penalties and costs, if the payment is delinquent. A $30.00 nonsufficient funds/returned payment fee will be passed on to all returned payments.
NOTICE:
Online payments will be unavailable beginning September 1st through the end of the year.
Delinquent Payments must be made in certified funds (cash, cashier's check, money order).
Delinquent Payments are accepted in person at the Treasurer's Office (Located at 522 Lincoln Avenue, Suite 22, Steamboat Springs, CO).
